This model is inspired by the PROFESSIONALGEAR Slim Spring Sky Fountain Pen by Sailor. This model
primarily uses procedural texturing using Redshift materials with a hand-drawn texture for the nib.
In recreating this pen, I took a lot of measurements, most of which were of the various diameters
in the pen. By using circle curves with these diameters, I lofted the curves to fill out the space
between them and create the mesh of the pen. I only needed a few adjustments to make it almost
exactly the same pen I use every day.
I bought this pen after completing my first year in the Animation & Visualization program at UCF.
Its colorway reminded me of a dress from the movie Barbie: A Fairy Secret. I really loved that
movie, and seeing this pen reminded me of the joy I felt watching that movie and its visuals.
